Anglesey Auto Locksmith — Last updated: 20 June 2026 — Applies to: https://angleseylocksmith.co.uk

This Privacy Policy explains how Anglesey Auto Locksmith (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you use our website at https://angleseylocksmith.co.uk or contact us for auto locksmith services. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who We Are

The data controller responsible for your personal data is:

We are a sole trader operating as a mobile auto locksmith service across Anglesey and Gwynedd. We do not currently require registration with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a data controller, but we comply with all obligations under UK GDPR regardless.

2. What Personal Data We Collect

We may collect the following categories of personal data:

Information you provide directly

  • Name — provided when you contact us by phone, WhatsApp or the website contact form
  • Phone number — provided when you call or send a WhatsApp message
  • Email address — if provided via the contact form
  • Vehicle details — make, model, year and registration number, provided to enable us to quote and carry out the service
  • Location — your address or location on Anglesey, provided so we can attend at your vehicle
  • Proof of ownership documents — V5C logbook or insurance documents, provided and verified for all-keys-lost jobs as required by SERMI regulations. These are not stored beyond the point of verification.

Information collected automatically

  • Website analytics data — pages visited, time on site, referral source and general geographic location (region level, not precise location), collected via cookies and analytics tools. See Section 7 (Cookies) below.
  • IP address — collected automatically by our web server and analytics tools
  • Device and browser type — collected by analytics tools

3. How We Use Your Personal Data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To provide the service you have requested — attending your vehicle, carrying out the auto locksmith work and communicating with you about the job
  • To verify ownership — for all-keys-lost jobs, to comply with SERMI regulatory requirements by verifying that you are the registered owner of the vehicle
  • To quote and invoice — to provide a fixed-price quote and issue payment receipts where requested
  • To respond to enquiries — to reply to contact form submissions, calls or WhatsApp messages
  • To improve our website — using anonymised analytics data to understand how visitors use our site

Legal basis: We process your personal data on the basis of contract performance (to carry out the service you have requested), legitimate interests (to respond to enquiries and improve our service) and legal obligation (to comply with SERMI ownership verification requirements).

4. How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purpose it was collected:

  • Job records (name, vehicle, location, job type) — retained for up to 12 months for warranty purposes, then deleted
  • Proof of ownership documents — verified and not retained after the job is completed
  • Contact enquiries — retained for up to 6 months, then deleted
  • Website analytics — typically retained for up to 26 months by third-party analytics providers (see Section 7)

5. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We may share data with the following third parties only where necessary:

  • Payment processors — if payment is made by card, your card details are processed by the payment provider directly. We do not store card numbers.
  • SERMI / manufacturer security systems — for all-keys-lost jobs, your vehicle identification number (VIN) is used to access manufacturer security data via SERMI-authorised channels. This is a legal requirement for this type of work.
  • Website hosting and analytics — our website is hosted on servers that may be located in the UK or EU. Analytics data is processed by third-party providers (see Section 7).

All third parties with whom we share data are required to protect it in accordance with UK GDPR.

  • Right to erasure — to request deletion of your personal data where we no longer have a lawful basis to retain it
  • Right to restriction — to request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances
